Harrahs New Orleans welcomes Ruths Chris Steak House with sizzling style
HEATHROW, Fla., May 12, 2008 Ruths Chris Steak House, Inc., (Nasdaq: RUTH), the largest fine-dining company in the U.S., today announced the opening of its New Orleans location, bringing the total number of restaurants to 122 worldwide.
This opening is especially important to us, and we are excited to open Ruths Chris Steak House in this great location in the heart of the tourism and business district of New Orleans, said Pete Montecino, Ruths Chris Steak House New Orleans General Manager. We are thrilled to partner with Harrahs and to make this investment in the revitalization of this great city.
The New Orleans Ruths Chris restaurant is centrally located in downtown New Orleans adjacent to the Harrahs New Orleans hotel at 525 Fulton Street. The restaurant features seating for more than 150 guests, including two bar areas and patio seating along Fulton Street. The opening of the New Orleans restaurant has brought more than 110 new jobs to New Orleans, and Ruths Chris has provided relocation assistance to several employees formerly based in New Orleans, giving them the opportunity to return to the city after being displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
As a celebration of its opening in New Orleans, Ruths Chris supported St. Augustine High Schools Marching 100 and the New Orleans Hospitality Foundation through charitable pre-opening dinners held at the restaurant. Additionally, Ruths Chris is holding an opening celebration on the Fulton Street corridor on May 16, with proceeds from admissions directly benefiting the New Orleans Hospitality Foundation.
