Tomato Salmonella Media Statement -- June 9, 2008

Due to the FDA consumer warning against the consumption of raw red tomatoes, Ruth's Chris Steak House has temporarily removed large red tomatoes from its menu. There have been no incidents of illness reported at any Ruth's Chris restaurant locations.

This action affects three menu items, the Tomato and Mozzarella Salad, the Tomato and Onion Salad, and the Broiled Tomato side dish.
These dishes will be returned to the menu when the FDA approves the consumption of these types of tomatoes.
